Each week now, the Leaf roster looks a little different than it did from the last time that we saw them. Going into Saturday night’s date with the Buffalo Sabres, social media ran rampant after word broke that they signed a centreman-finally. Someone who may be able to hold the fort while David Bolland recuperates and Nazem Kadri watches time go by until his suspension is over.

Now there is word out of www.nhl.com that Leafs have signed yet another player, most of us know absolutely nothing about this individual either.

The Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday signed defenseman Matt Finn to a three-year entry-level contract.

Finn, selected in the second round (No. 35) of the 2012 NHL Draft, has five goals and 20 points in 21 games this season for the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League, tying him for fourth in scoring among defenseman in the league. Finn also has a plus-15 rating.

The Guelph team captain was also named the OHL’s Defenseman of the Month for October and for the second consecutive year will represent Team OHL against Team Russia in the 2013 Subway Super Series game Nov. 21 in Oshawa.

In 183 career games with Guelph, Finn has 21 goals and 120 points with 125 penalty minutes.
