Usual Receiver Fantuz Outguns QB Burris as Ti-Cats pull Out Victory over Allouettes
Hamilton Kicker Has Some Swagger. Gotta Love It
Hamilton Tiger-Cat kicker Brett Lauther was as good as good as he had to be on Saturday against the Als. He’s got some swagger too.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats improves to 6-??? but more importantly they gained a 2-game advantage over the Montreal Allouettes following a 28-25 victory over the Als in a neutral-site game held in Moncton on Saturday afternoon.
Hamilton improved to 2-0 overall at Moncton Stadium after downing Calgary 56-36 in 2011.
Hamilton QB Henry Burris was as sloppy as he’s ever been. He threw for only 176 yards and completed 15/27 passes and didn’t get Hamilton a TD until the second quarter.
Burris didn’t get around to throwing a touchdown pass, but his usual-favourite receiver, Andy Fantuz did.
Montreal rookie Josh Neiswander beat Burris by over 100 yards and completed 26 of 36 passes. Montreal had a 7-3 lead after the first quarter and Hamilton had a 13-10 lead at the half.
The Cats did get on the scoreboard first when Brett Lauther kicked a 25-yard FG.
Montreal’s SJ Green got the Als back in it and on top at 13:36 of the first quarter with a 33-yard TD catch to put Montreal ahead 7-3.
In the second quarter, something happened to the Ticats that doesn’t usually (ever) happen.
Nineteen seconds into the second quarter, usual receiver Andy Fantuz threw a pass to teammate Marc Beswick for a 10-yard TD pass to put the Cats ahead.
Lauther kicked the convert which put Hamilton up 10-7.
The St. Mary’s College product (http://www.ticats.ca/roster/show/id/5847/)kicked 4 FGs for Hamilton in this game, the final two came in the 4th quarter when Hamilton almost ended up needing more points.
Lauther crossed his arms after the final attempt; this kid has no shortage of confidence. That is almost necessary when playing pro in Hamilton. I wish I had video footage of it. It was beautiful. Thank God they won.
Both team’s kickers supplied field goals later in the second quarter, sending the team’s to the locker room with Hamilton holding onto a 13-10 lead.
SECOND HALF
In the second half, Montreal outscored Hamilton by one point, and would come close to tying the game but elected to kick the one-point convert and missed the onside kick.
Montreal scored a TD to take a 3-point lead but missed the extra point. Then kicker Sean White scored a 43-yard FG and Montreal led 19-15 heading to the 4th quarter.
Hamilton backup QB Dan LeFevour scored a 1-yard to put the Ticats up 22-19.
Two more Hamilton FGs put them up 28-19 but Montreal’s Duron Carter scored on a 27-yard pass from Josh Neiswander with 28 seconds remaining which cut the Hamilton lead to 28-26.
Montreal attempted the onside kick but Ticat halfback Onrea Jones came up with the ball to secure the win.
Week 13 wraps up tomorrow afternoon when BC (7-4) heads to Taylor Field at Mosaic Stadium to take on the (8-3) Roughriders. Game time is set for 4:30pm EST.@Game7overtime
